About our City of Atwater flooring contractor business

Our story starts with commercial floor prep

I spent years with a big commercial flooring outfit, working warehouse, plant and shop floors, before I started this business in Atwater in 2017. Those jobs taught me that a floor is won or lost in the prep. I saw plenty of floors fail, and most of the trouble started in the slab, not in the coating on top of it.

That's still how we work here in Merced County. Homeowners call us about garages, patios and basements, and small business owners call about shop and kitchen floors. I come out first, look at the concrete and write the estimate myself, and a small crew I trained does the work while I check it along the way. I'd rather tell you your concrete isn't ready than put a floor on it I don't trust. You can see everything we do on our home page, and our contact page is the place to tell me about the floor you have in mind.

What you can expect from our crew

These are the things you'll notice from the first visit to the final walk-through. They come from years on commercial floors, where careful prep decided whether a floor lasted.

  • Your slab gets checked before colors

We look at and prepare your concrete before we talk about colors and finishes, because the slab decides whether a floor holds up. If it isn't ready for what you want, we say so plainly and explain what it would take to get it there.

  • You deal with the owner

I come out for the first visit, measure and write the estimate myself. It lays out every step, from grinding the slab to the final coat, so you can see what you're paying for.

  • Dust kept down, rooms protected

We keep the dust down and protect the rest of your home or shop while we work. Grinding is the messy part of the job, so that's where we're most careful.

Licenses that cover flooring work in Atwater

  • Licensed and insured

California's Contractors State License Board licenses anyone who builds or alters a building in the state, once a job needs a building permit, uses employees or totals $1,000 or more in labor and materials. A bigger job can't be split into smaller contracts to stay under that amount, so ask any contractor you're considering whether they hold that state license.

  • City of Atwater business license

Every business working inside Atwater city limits needs a City Business License, and a contractor has to show a valid state contractor's license first. Permits are a separate step, and if your job needs one, we tell you at the estimate and handle it with the city or county building office.
